Cos'è il Marlins Test:
Il Marlins Test è un esame scritto (al computer) e orale (Marlins T.O.S.E.) creato appositamente per tutte quelle categorie che lavorano a bordo delle navi. La certificazione Marlins, attesta la conoscenza tecnica e non, della lingua inglese. Riconosciuto a livello internazionale è l'attestato più richiesto nel mondo del lavoro e nella maggior parte dei casi è assolutamente necessario per poter lavorare a bordo.
A seconda della categoria (Seafarers, Offshore Workes, ecc), l'esame ha durata e argomenti differenti. Il risultato è espresso in percentuale. Per alcune categorie, come ad esempio i Comandanti, è richiesto un risultato maggiore o uguale al 90%. Per altre categorie un risultato sufficiente deve essere comunque superiore al 70%.
Il Centro Mastery essendo accreditato e riconosciuto come centro d'esame e di preparazione è la soluzione per chi vuole esercitarsi per riuscire ad ottenere il miglior risultato possibile.
Il centro Mastery, in qualità di Marlins Approved Test Centre, effettua la preparazione ai seguenti test, che si svolgeranno direttamente nella sede Mastery:

ISF Marlins English Language Test for Seafarers
Each test consists of a
total of 85 questions which are broken down into the following categories:
- Listening comprehension (25 questions)
- Grammar (30 questions)
- Vocabulary (15 questions)
- Different sounds and pronunciation (9 questions)
- Reading (1 questions)
- Time and numbers (5 questions)
The final score is
calculated as an overall percentage.
There is no time limit
for taking the test but the recommended maximum time is 60 minutes.
Marlins English Language Test for Cruise Ship
Staff
Each test consists of a
total of 50 questions which are broken down into the following categories:
- Listening comprehension (14 questions)
- Grammar (19 questions)
- Vocabulary (12 questions)
- Reading (1 questions)
- Time and numbers (4 questions)
The final score is
calculated as an overall percentage.
There is no time limit
for taking the test but the recommended maximum time is 30 minutes.
Marlins English Language Test for Offshore
Workers
Each test consists of a
total of 85 questions which are broken down into the following categories:
- Listening comprehension (28 questions)
- Grammar (28 questions)
- Vocabulary (17 questions)
- Reading (1 questions)
- Time and numbers (6 questions)
There is no
time limit for taking the test but the recommended maximum time is 60 minutes.
Marlins Test of Spoken English
The
20-minute ISF Marlins Test Of Spoken English (TOSE) provides the oral assessor
with a standardised interview format for assessing the speaking and listening
skills of all ranks and nationality of seafarers. It provides a thorough assessment
of the seafarer's ability to understand and speak English. Used in conjunction
with the ISF Marlins computer test it provides a complete profile of the
seafarer's language proficiency.
